The Pema Chödrön Foundation, established in 2006, supports various charitable endeavors, including empowering Tibetan Buddhist nuns through education and training, aiding nunneries in Tibet, India, Nepal, and Bhutan, and providing scholarships to Western monastics. Additionally, the foundation supports community-building projects for at-risk and underserved populations worldwide, such as Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, and the Prison Mindfulness Institute.
