September 11–13, 2020
Online – Omega Institute
Perhaps never before has so much of our lives changed so dramatically and so quickly. It seems everything has been upended, leaving us no solid ground beneath our feet. Ancient Buddhist wisdom can help us get to the heart of our ensuing stress, anger, grief, and fear. And when taught by a contemporary master, it’s just what the world needs today.
In this live online weekend program, she explores the touchstones of Buddhist teachings that can help guide us through today’s upheavals. We learn how to center ourselves with the basic goodness, resilience, intelligence, and compassion that is available to each of us all the time.
It is from this still place deep within ourselves—fully present and open—that we can benevolently respond to whatever’s happening all around us, and by our example show others how to do the same. This is what makes the teachings of the Buddha both timely and timeless—and invaluable.
The weekend includes talks, guided meditations, and question-and-answer sessions with Pema Chödrön. Tim Olmsted guides us in meditation practices that show us how to apply the weekend’s teachings to our everyday lives. This will be Pema Chödrön’s final live-teaching event at Omega until 2022.
